Solar Energy

At Interstellar Energy we offer solar packages that are 100% individualized for your specific needs. We can  help you with permitting, grants, engineering diagrams for a system and use of our Master Electrician, giving you complete control over your own installation!

Grid-tied, on-grid, utility-interactive, grid intertie and grid backfeeding are all terms used to describe the same concept – a solar system that is connected to the utility power grid. This system does not provide backup power during a power outage (even if the sun is shining) but for sites with reliable grid power, this is usually the logical system choice.

Off-grid solar power also stores DC electricity in batteries, which is used to power DC appliances in RV’s, boats, and cabins, as well as farm/ranch appliances like cattle gates and rural telecommunications systems. However, AC is the standard form of electricity for anything that “plugs in” to utility power and is the appropriate current for common household appliances. An inverter allows this system to convert DC electrical current coming from the batteries into AC or alternating current

RV/Marine Solar Power Systems use the same components as any off-grid power system, but instead of connecting to the power grid, it connects to batteries. The temperatures on the roof of an RV can be very hot especially when panels are “flush” mounted a couple of inches off the roof. High temperature lowers voltage output of panels and power to your batteries.
